The evolution

From neighborhood block party to pan-Canadian trust

Founded to bridge grassroots cultural traditions with contemporary youth creative expression, the festival began as a single afternoon gathering in a public square. Today, it operates across multiple provinces, connecting diverse communities through live music, dance, and culinary arts in urban plazas.

We believe that public spaces belong to the creators who animate them. Every festival is built from the ground up alongside local youth councils and cultural elders.

Core ethics

Fostering social cohesion in public parks

Our approach centers on direct mentorship and high-visibility mainstages. Emerging artists do not merely perform; they work directly with veteran directors, lighting designers, and sound engineers to bring their vision to live urban audiences.

By keeping festival admission open and partnering directly with municipal parks boards, we ensure that art remains a public right rather than an exclusive commodity.

Performer story

Standing on the mainstage for the first time with my ensemble gave our traditional music the megaphone it needed to reach the entire city.
